31st Annual Exhibition November 2015
Lisvane Art Workshop's Annual Exhibition on November 6th and 7th was once again affected by the adverse weather. The Friday night was very quiet with only 38 visitors, but Saturday was much better and we almost caught up to last year’s figure, but the attendance of only 103 was again below our previous record low. This year we included works by many of our newer members as well as those by our more established members. Most of our visitors praised the standard of work. We really appreciate those visitors who did come to see what was on show, but the amount of work involved in putting on this exhibition can hardly be justified any longer in view of the falling attendances. Once the dust has settled, we shall be considering the future of the exhibition -
With the lower number of visitors, we naturally sold fewer paintings than usual -
We reverted back to asking visitors to choose their single favourite painting as we felt it was too much of a task to choose three as they did last year. This year's most favourite was “Winter Sun” by Trevor Hill with 9 votes. Second was new member Alison Down with her watercolour of ‘Cafe Scene, Buis-
