Lisvane Art Workshop

Our 36th Annual Exhibition was held in the small hall of Lisvane Memorial Hall on Friday evening, 24th November and Saturday 25th November.  The Friday evening opening coincided with the Men’s Shed Opera ‘Shoulder To Shoulder’ in the main hall.

There were 45 original paintings hanging, plus a selection of unframed original and some prints.This year’s exhibition was enhanced by a selection of glass figures, pictures and ornaments by June Jensen.

We sold 7 original paintings plus 1 unframed original, and 3 prints as well as a number of the glass figures, calendars and cards - a nice long list of sales. Hopefully, we will have made a nice profit too.

The exhibition was well attended, though we can only estimate how many visitors came as no entry fee was charged this year.

Many thanks to all who helped in so many ways - it was a real team effort this year.

As in previous years, visitors were asked to vote for their favourite painting in the show. There was a tie for first place with two of Ian Philpot’s watercolours gaining most votes. Ian therefore wins the Ted Martin Memorial Trophy for the next year. For more information about the Ted Martin Trophy, please click here.
